Unnamalaikadai
Situated near Kuzhithurai, Unnamalaikadai is a small town in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. Located close to Kerala, this picturesque village was part of the princely state of Travancore and was integrated with the State of Tamil Nadu in 1952. The village abounds in natural beauty with lush-green paddy fields, coconut groves, banana plantations, luxuriant greenery, mountains and ponds. The village is also blessed with the presence of the Thamraparni River.
It spans over an area of about 16 sq km. Athur is situated in the north, Valvachagostam in the south, Kuzhithurai in the west and Kothanalloor in the south-east. Nearby tourist spots include Thengapattinam, Thiruvattar, Kollemcode, Colachel Port, Sanguthurai Beach, Manavalakurichi, Muttam and Padmanabhapuram Palace.
Accommodation facilities are available at Nagercoil. The nearest airport is Trivandrum International Airport. Kuzhithurai Railway Station serves Pudukadai. Nagercoil Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railhead. Pudukadai can be easily accessed from Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil by road.
